This home from the mid-90s offered lots of space and light. But a full guest bathroom needed a bit of color and personality, without breaking the bank or requiring the owner to spend a lot. While we had all kinds of ideas from wallpaper to tiling the shower, the objective was to provide an updated and more welcoming space fast. Painting the cabinets, when done properly, is a big budget-saver and for this bath, which is not used often, a great option to ripping and replacing the very large vanity. Brushed gold pulls and handles that coordinated with hardware recently updated in rest of the home kept the theme consistent, and we replaced the mismatched towel bars with hooks and matching TP holder to tie to together. Adding a rug, a small stool for bath essentials and vanity accessories finished the look. Low-maintenance plants are an easy natural touch to soften a space and add some color.
